Good Man Brand FW25 Goods Mandate | 100% Better & Best Materials

For the second season in a row, Good Man Brand is proud to share that every single piece in our Fall/Winter 2025 collection meets the “Better” or “Best” criteria of the Goods Mandate. That means 100 percent of what we design and deliver this season is built with materials chosen for their responsibility, performance, and long-term impact.

It is a milestone that deserves recognition. It also signals something larger: our belief that progress is not a one-time celebration. It is a habit. It is the outcome of choosing carefully, season after season, and holding ourselves to the highest possible standard.

A Refresher on the Goods Mandate

The Goods Mandate was introduced to create accountability in our sourcing and production. It is a scoring system that places every product in one of three categories: Basic, Better, or Best.

  • Basic includes materials that meet quality standards but do not carry advanced sustainability credentials.

  • Better represents responsibly sourced and verified options such as recycled fibers or LWG-certified leathers.

  • Best is reserved for products made from the highest standard of sustainable and certified materials, such as organic cotton, bio-based alternatives, and fully compostable components.

The purpose of the system is not to complicate shopping. It is to give our community a clear, honest picture of what goes into the clothes and footwear they wear. Transparency is not an afterthought. It is central to how we design.

Fall/Winter 2025: A New Benchmark

This season marks another step forward. For the second consecutive collection, we reached 100 percent Better and Best. Apparel is now entirely composed of Best materials for the very first time. That means every jacket, sweatshirt, or tee is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton or other responsible textiles. Footwear continues to evolve as well, with innovations in plant-based alternatives to leather, fully circular soles, and recycled components that reduce waste.

Here is how the season breaks down:

  • Basic: 0%

  • Better: 42.3%

  • Best: 57.7%

At first glance, some may notice that the Best percentage shifted downward from 75.6 percent to 57.7 percent. Context matters. Our assortment expanded, and in several cases the balance of performance and availability required us to designate more products as Better instead of Best. The important truth is that every single product sits in one of those two higher tiers. Basic has been reduced to zero, and that is where we intend to keep it.

This outcome is not about chasing a perfect number. It is about keeping sustainability at the forefront without compromising design, performance, or comfort.

Innovation in Materials

What makes Fall/Winter 2025 special is not just the numbers. It is the mix of materials that went into this collection.

  • Leather Working Group Gold and Silver-rated leathers: Responsibly sourced and tanned using strict environmental protocols.

  • GOTS-certified organic cotton: Every piece of apparel this season is made with organic cotton that meets the Global Organic Textile Standard, ensuring environmental care and worker protections.

  • Bio-based alternatives: Our Halo sneaker introduces bio-based leather alternatives, reducing reliance on animal hides while keeping durability and style intact.

  • Compostable soles: Innovations like BioCir® Flex create outsoles that are fully circular and made from renewable sources.

  • Recycled rubber blends: Up to 40 percent recycled content, cutting down on new resource use without sacrificing traction or comfort.

  • GrapeSkin® vegan leather: An innovative material with a high content of vegetal, renewable, & recycled raw materials using vegan grape leather.

Each material tells a story of what is possible when sustainability and design share the same priority.

Footwear in Focus

Sneakers are central to this season’s story. Every style is crafted in Portugal with attention to detail and respect for the supply chain.

  • Legend London Studio Sneaker
Handcrafted with Italian leather sourced from Gold and Silver-rated tanneries. Available in White/Oatmeal, Black, and Cognac. Finished with premium laces made from 100 percent recycled polyester.

  • Aspire Sneaker
A mix of responsibly sourced mesh and nubuck leather. Silver-rated by the Leather Working Group. Built on a sturdy thermoplastic resin sole.

  • Prospect Sneaker
Features nubuck from certified tanneries. The gum sole includes 40 percent recycled content and meets RCS certification for recycled materials. Waxed laces are made with 100 percent organic cotton.

  • Halo Sneaker (Bio-Based Leather)
A milestone in sustainable footwear. Crafted with a plant-based alternative to animal leather and a BioCir® Flex sole derived from renewable oils and castor beans.

  • Halo Sneaker (GrapeSkin® Leather)
A vegan leather built from the grape industry’s byproducts. Newly released in a Black/Natural colorway.

Each of these sneakers reflects our belief that fashion and responsibility can walk side by side.

Apparel Elevated

Beyond footwear, Fall/Winter apparel takes a significant leap. Every item in this season’s clothing line is made with 100 percent GOTS-certified organic cotton. This is a first for Good Man Brand. Organic cotton delivers durability and comfort, but it also ensures that farming methods protect soil health, water supply, and the communities that grow it.

Our Broader Commitments

Sustainability is not limited to products. Good Man Brand has always paired environmental progress with social responsibility.

  • 3% Giveback: Three percent of net profits are donated to the Why Not You Foundation, supporting youth education and empowerment.

  • B Corporation Certification: As a certified B Corp, we maintain rigorous standards for social and environmental performance.

  • Strict sourcing policies: We prohibit the use of fur, non-ethical leather, vinyl, and polyurethane. Our sourcing team works with suppliers who share our vision of responsibility and accountability.

These commitments ensure that sustainability is not a campaign. It is part of who we are.

Looking Ahead

The Goods Mandate was never designed to be a marketing tool. It is a promise. A system that keeps us accountable to progress, season after season. Fall/Winter 2025 represents the second time in a row that we have reached 100 percent Better and Best, and it will not be the last.

For customers, this means every piece in the collection carries more than style. It carries the weight of responsibility and the care that went into every material choice. It means that when you lace up a pair of sneakers or put on a sweatshirt, you are part of a movement that believes fashion can do better.

Progress is never finished. There will always be new innovations, new partnerships, and new challenges to meet. What will not change is our commitment to move forward.
