PROUDLY B CORP CERTIFIED
GOOD MAN BRAND by The House of LR&C
WE’RE A CERTIFIED B CORP
We’re proud to say that Good Man Brand by The House of LR&C is part of the B Corp community, a group of companies focused on using the power of business as a force for social, environmental, and economic good. The B Corp model will give us the kind of third-party vetting that helps ensure we’re always putting our mission and values first—and continuously getting better at it—as we grow and evolve. The House of LR&C operates as the parent company of Good Man Brand, and was founded by Russell & Ciara Wilson to create sustainable fashion brands.
Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability—as determined by B Lab®, a nonprofit dedicated to creating a more equitable and regenerative economy for everyone.
B Corps are helping redefine what success means in the business sector (balancing profit and purpose) to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
Becoming a B Corp directly aligns with—and keeps us focused on—our mission to create large-scale positive impact on people and the planet by providing third-party accountability.
B Corp certification means we’re living up to (and into) a rigorous set of social and environmental standards when it comes to our industry. Kind of like what the Fair Trade certification tells you about a food item or an organic certification says about cotton.
The lengthy certification process is based on three essential pillars. Each pillar isn’t enough on its own. It's the trifecta that makes this certification unique, credible, and truly impactful.
Performance verification: To meet the performance requirement, a company must earn a minimum verified score of 80 out of 200 points on the B Impact Assessment (a lot tougher than it sounds), which examines a company’s overall impact on its workers, community, customers, and environment. Then, they sign the Term Sheet and B Corp Declaration of Interdependence. Sixty percent of applicants don’t meet certification requirements.
Transparency: It builds trust. Once certified, each B Corp must make its B Impact Report available to the public on bcorporation.net.
Legal requirement for certification: This usually involves structuring (or restructuring) the business in a way that enacts or prioritizes stakeholder governance, a model that considers the interest of all stakeholders—including customers, workers, suppliers, communities, investors, and the environment—in any decision making. This holistic accountability measure means B Corps can better maintain their people- and planet-first mission as they scale, change leadership, or IPO.
There’s a growing community of more than 1,400 Certified B Corps—from over 120 industries across almost 50 countries—working together toward one unifying goal: to build a more inclusive, sustainable economy by redefining what success really means and requires.
Both are leaders in a global movement to use business as a force for good. Public Benefit Corporations self-report performance standards; B Corps are assessed, scored, and recertified (after three years) by B Lab®. We’re proud to be both.
You deserve to know who you’re working for, buying from, and investing in. Our certification is a legally binding, third party-verified promise to you that we’ll always strive for better, for more sustainable options, for more Love, Respect, & Care—for people and the planet.
